Haley McDonald (PT, DPT, PCS)
About Me
I am Haley McDonald, a pediatric physical therapist and proud native of Rome, Georgia. After earning my Bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, I pursued my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Emory University in Atlanta. In 2020, I achieved my Board Specialty in Pediatric Physical Therapy.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with children across a variety of settings, including hospital-based acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, Early Intervention services, outpatient clinics, and schools. I’ve also gained specialized training in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) for infants and toddlers with neurological diagnoses, electrical stimulation for pediatric patients, and interventions for torticollis and plagiocephaly. My experience covers a broad range of conditions, such as developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, and many others.

What drives me every day is partnering with families and witnessing the incredible growth and progress of children. It’s deeply fulfilling to help children achieve functional milestones that enhance their quality of life, play, and social skills. I am passionate about optimizing movement and development, using the latest in neurodevelopmental science to guide each child toward thriving.
As an adjunct professor at Emory University, South College, and Brenau University, I am also dedicated to educating future physical therapists. I love teaching students how to build meaningful connections with families while delivering exceptional care. In addition to my academic roles, I actively serve in leadership positions within the physical therapy profession, including my roles as Vice President of the Georgia Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and as a Georgia Delegate for the APTA House of Delegates. At home, I am married to my wonderful husband, William, and we have two children, Hudson and Madelyn. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, cooking, and exploring new travel destinations with my family.

TESTIMONIALS
Hear It from the Parents
She made us feel comfortable at a time when there were a lot of unknowns for me. She worked with me and my family and I really felt like I was part of the team.
We felt like Haley treated our son as she would treat her own. We are incredibly glad and thankful for how she helped our family.
Our experience with Haley was great. She was respectful and gentle with our baby boy, Haley is very knowledgeable and helped us as new parents gain confidence in our son’s journey.
Haley is so warm and friendly that you just knew that whatever was worrying you about your child was going to be taken seriously and validated. I can’t sing her praises enough.
She did her job and then some, even suggesting and advocating that my child sought treatment for another issue, which was a suggestion outside of the scope that I hired her for. That’s just a testament to how caring she is as a PT.
Our whole family loved getting to know and work with Mrs. Haley. She went above and beyond to help our son and answer all of our questions. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone in need of a physical therapist for their little one.
Wonderful communication throughout our time with Haley! I wouldn’t recommend any other therapist! Because of Haley my daughter met all of her milestones and is a happy healthy two year old!!!
Haley spent time listening to my concerns, walking me through our plan for my child, and seeing the best my child could become. I’m so grateful that we were able to walk this journey with her, and are so excited for our progress!
Haley is very knowledgeable and helped us as new parents gain confidence in our son’s journey through torticollis and his development. She showed much patience in answering the many questions I had. I also appreciated the at-home visits that helped Julian be more comfortable.
There is no judgement or criticism with Haley. She takes everything you see at home and spends the time necessary to fix it. She doesn’t question your intuition or gut feelings, but tries to work through it with you, which is so key to a good provider.
