Haley McDonald (PT, DPT, PCS)

Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist

About Me

I am Haley McDonald, a pediatric physical therapist and proud native of Rome, Georgia. After earning my Bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, I pursued my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Emory University in Atlanta. In 2020, I achieved my Board Specialty in Pediatric Physical Therapy.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with children across a variety of settings, including hospital-based acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, Early Intervention services, outpatient clinics, and schools. I’ve also gained specialized training in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) for infants and toddlers with neurological diagnoses, electrical stimulation for pediatric patients, and interventions for torticollis and plagiocephaly. My experience covers a broad range of conditions, such as developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, and many others.

What drives me every day is partnering with families and witnessing the incredible growth and progress of children. It’s deeply fulfilling to help children achieve functional milestones that enhance their quality of life, play, and social skills. I am passionate about optimizing movement and development, using the latest in neurodevelopmental science to guide each child toward thriving.
As an adjunct professor at Emory University, South College, and Brenau University, I am also dedicated to educating future physical therapists. I love teaching students how to build meaningful connections with families while delivering exceptional care. In addition to my academic roles, I actively serve in leadership positions within the physical therapy profession, including my roles as Vice President of the Georgia Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and as a Georgia Delegate for the APTA House of Delegates. At home, I am married to my wonderful husband, William, and we have two children, Hudson and Madelyn. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, cooking, and exploring new travel destinations with my family.
